Akiva Gruman & Chasidim’lech Children’s Choir “Hispallelu”

A few days before Shavuot, the Yahrzeit of the Holy Baal Shem Tov, composer Shimon Bentselowitz presents a new composition performed by Akiva Gruman and the Chasidim’lech Children’s Choir.

“Therefore, children, pray for your fathers and mothers that they may be blessed with raising you in Torah, marriage, and good deeds.” This is a well-known saying of the Baal Shem Tov, who emphasized that it is not necessarily the parents who should pray for the children, but rather the children who should pray for the parents who will be able to raise them safely. To this special sentence, composer Shimon Benzlowitz has woven Yanki Levinger‘s words in Yiddish, and the result is moving and uplifting.

Composition: Shimon Benzlowitz
Arrangement: Elazar Ernster

Production: Ephraim Horvitz HG Productions
Lyrics in Yiddish: Yanki Levinger
