From The Fire & Faith: Avishai In A New Single – “Mizmor LeToda”

The story behind Avishai‘s new song – “Mizmor LeToda” begins with a moving drama on the eve of Rosh Hashanah: Three brothers from the Malayev family were involved in a serious car accident, when the vehicle overturned and caught fire. With rare resourcefulness and courage, they rescued each other from the flames, and as soon as they realized they were saved, they stood in front of the burning vehicle and shouted together “Mizmor LeToda“. The son Maor, who was fatally injured in the rescue attempt, fought for his life for two months in intensive care until he returned his soul to the Creator at the age of 16, leaving behind a testament of light and faith.

The song, written and musically produced by Sharon Avilachak, was born to commemorate the image of Maor, a child of joy and honoring his parents. The lyrics combine chapter 10 of Tehillim, which accompanied the family in difficult moments and was even engraved on Maor’s tombstone, along with a personal and touching text. Accurately performed by Avishai.
