Sukkot Takes On A New Rhythm: Chaim Yaskil Breathes New Life Into A Classic With “A Sukkah Liyad”
We all know “A Sukkaleh A Kleineh” as a nostalgic, soulful melody that has accompanied generations in the Sukkah. Immediately following Yom Kippur—driven by anticipation for the holiday and a desire to usher in pure joy—Chaim Yaskil decided to take this classic in a completely new direction. The melody took shape on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, the song was in the hands of arranger Yanky Cohen, who transformed it into a vibrant, high-energy track. Chaim then proceeded to the recording studio with Yonatan Blau, and after two and a half days of around-the-clock work, “A Sukkah Liyad” was born.
