Throughout the entire period of the war, From the tragic events of Simchat Torah until today, Yaakov Shwekey has dedicated all his strength and energy to support the families of the hostages, fallen Soldiers, and wounded IDF troops. From performances at IDF bases, and for the families of the hostages, to hospital visits, and even a special song he released a year ago in honor of the kidnapped Ori
Danino HY”D.
Now, in the midst of this immense sorrow, Yaakov Shwekey is releasing a new single and music video titled “Kaddish,” which he co-wrote and produced with Yitzy Waldner, in memory of his parents, fallen IDF soldiers, the murdered hostages, and all those who lost their lives Al Kiddush Hashem. The song was arranged by Yanky Steinmetz and is accompanied by an especially moving video depicting the names
and faces of all the fallen heroes. In the video, Shwekey wears a unique Tallit, embroidered with the names of the soldiers who perished HY”D, an initiative by his dear friend Shai Graucher.
Yaakov shares: “This song is very emotional and deep for me. I hope that when people listen to it, they will take a moment to reflect on the stories of our brothers and sisters who are now in a better world. They are not just a picture you see on the signs on the walls – Each precious Neshama is a whole world. When we think about their families, it is impossible to find comforting words, but I feel that when we say
‘Kaddish’ and focus on the words, we can find some solace and comfort in knowing that there is a Creator of the world who orchestrates vverything and will bring the resurrection and redemption soon in our days, Amen.
