The Song That Gave Yaron Bar No Rest – In a New Performance
There are songs that you love from the first moment and there are songs that don’t give you rest. That’s what happened to Yaron Bar when he heard Yossi Green‘s “Veda Sheli’asid,” based on the words of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.
“I felt that the words told what I’ve been going through since I knew myself,” Yaron shares. “I study and study, but more than once I feel like most things are forgotten. Suddenly I heard Rabbi Nachman’s words, and I felt rested.”
The more he returned to the song, the stronger his desire to record it himself. According to him, Yossi Green‘s melody manages to express the words so precisely that he simply contacted Yossi and asked for his blessing to record the song himself, and Green, moved by the request, referred him to Eli Klein. The two met in the studio, and within two hours the new version was ready.
“I am full of gratitude to my Father in Heaven who introduces me to songs that are pure truth,” says Yaron, “and I am grateful for the privilege of singing them.”
