Sarah Dukes – Yesterday Again (Official)

Many of us have experienced the loss of someone beloved to us, of those close to us. We are angry about it. Resentful. Helpless. Anxious. Fearful. With our emotional equilibrium thrown off, we are left to feel confused, alone, and often numb.

Music has the power to evoke strong emotions and can therefore be extremely healing. It can validate and acknowledge our pain and take us past the numbness to truly feel. Through this we can once again feel true connection, attachment, and love to and from others.

Yesterday Again” is a ballad reflecting on the experience of losing a loved one. It validates and allows for the broken heart, the searching soul, the vulnerability of pain, and takes its listeners on a cathartic journey. Within “Yesterday Again” is grief, pain, yearning and, most paramount, the longing for both meaning and connection.

May may the sorrow we have encountered help deepen and enhance our experience of life and its memories.

Sarah Dukes, a Chabad mother of 6, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and is an award-winning composer. Sarah’s stirring collection of original piano solos is featured on dozens of international radio stations, has been included on multiple airline’s entertainment systems, and was selected for the first round ballots for the 59th GRAMMY Awards.

Until now, Sarah’s music has been purely instrumental. “Yesterday Again” is Sarah’s debut as not only a songwriter, but as a lyricist. The result is a striking performance of emotional intelligence and vulnerability.

Yesterday Again” introduces a new level of musical beauty to Sarah’s already powerful collection of original compositions. It is available for download or streaming on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Spotify, together with the rest of Sarah’s musical collection.
