Ruli Ezrachi With A New Single “Matza Chein Bamidbar” Words of Strength For Our Time

Matza Chein Bamidbar מצא חן במדבר — Words of Strength for Our Time

The current period in the Land of Israel, following war and profound suffering, is marked by national exhaustion, deep pain, and difficult questions. At the same time, across the world, open hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people is intensifying, often with disturbing confidence and cruelty. Many experience a sense of distance — not only from the world, but from themselves, and at times even from faith itself.

Precisely in such a reality, the words of consolation found in Yimiyahu take on renewed clarity and relevance.

The verse, “מרחוק ה׳ נראה לי, ואהבת עולם אהבתיך,” does not promise immediate redemption or simple answers. It acknowledges that divine presence may feel distant, muted, or concealed. Yet it establishes a fundamental truth: the distance exists in human experience, not in the bond itself. The love is not a reaction to circumstances, but a constant — an “everlasting love” that does not dissolve even when providence is difficult to discern.

The second verse, “כה אמר ה, מצא חן במדבר,” goes a step further. It reminds us that the deepest bond between the people of Israel and Hashem was not forged in moments of power, sovereignty, or security, but in the wilderness — a place of uncertainty, vulnerability, and total dependence. The wilderness becomes a precise metaphor for a wounded nation, under attack, tested from within and without. And yet, it is there that grace is found.

Together, these verses deliver a single, uncompromising message: even when we feel distant, battered, and isolated; even when the world closes in with hostility — the bond has not only endured, it rests upon a depth that was formed precisely in such conditions. The spiritual history of the Jewish people is not built upon eras of comfort, but upon steadfast endurance in the wilderness.

These verses do not seek to blur pain or justify suffering. They affirm that meaning is not lost within it. Grace and love are not the result of success, but of deep faithfulness — to existence, to identity, and to the covenant — even when the path is difficult and the horizon remains far away.
