A Surprising & Contemporary Electronic Version of Naomi Shemer’s Timeless Song: Menachem Shukron In A New Single: “Shirat Ha’Asavim 2026”
Singer and composer Menachem Shukron returns with a new and exciting single, a contemporary version of the classic work “Shirat Ha’Asavim” written by Naomi Shemer according to the teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.
“This song called to me, and when there is a calling – it is impossible to ignore it,” shares Menachem. “In the dive into the words, an ancient melody floats and rises: the shepherd’s melody, the well-known Berdichev melody – the melody of the heart.”
The new single creates a special and unexpected connection between the classic Hebrew singer, an ancient Chassidic melody and a contemporary and electronic atmosphere. The song receives a new interpretation here, combining spiritual depth, tradition and a modern breath. The words of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, which Naomi Shemer has clothed in such a familiar melody, take on new life in Idan Belinsky‘s fresh arrangement: “Know that every shepherd has his own special melody, know that every blade of grass has its own special song…”
“May the melodies open doors and bring new light to the world,” concludes Menachem. “Thanks to such wonderful and moving compositions.”
Lyrics: Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, Naomi Shemer
Composition: Naomi Shemer
Arrangement and musical production: Idan Belinsky
