Eli Seidenfeld & Moishy Rosenberg With A New Hit For Pesach “Vehi Sheamda”
Vehi Sheamda is one of the centerpieces of the Seder, capturing the unique bond between Klal Yisroel and Hashem. Its message, that Hashem saves us from our enemies in every generation, feels especially powerful right now. Adding another niggun to these words, with so many classics already out there, is a daunting task, but my hope is that this one finds its way to your Seder table.
The song began years ago when Yitzy Weinberg sang the intro he had done with the choir for Camp Manavu’s cantata of Shwekey’s iconic tune. That inspired the low and middle parts, which sat unfinished for years until I met Gavriel Drillman at a wedding and asked him to compose a high part, completing the song.
Avrumi Berko delivered a masterful production as always, and brought on child soloist Moishy Rosenberg, whose sweet vocals take the song to the next level.
My hope is that this niggun enhances your Seder, your Pesach, and your connection to Hashem.
A Gut Pesach!
