Yossi Baylis With Three New Songs, The First Part Today – “Mizmor Lisoda”

Composer and singer Yossi Baylis (53) is presenting a blitz of new songs in the coming weeks. The first is dedicated to the women of Israel who continue to say “thank you” even in the most difficult times.

“Mizmor Lisoda” is a touching musical work that was born from deep inspiration from the reaction of Israeli women in the current period. Yossi came across videos in which they say “Mizmor Lisoda” even at funerals, even in the most difficult times. ”Baylis is inspired. “How beautiful, what a holy people we are, what righteous women we have. It really melted my heart.”

Baylis is considered a prolific composer, he has been composing since the age of 12 and has accumulated over 800 melodies to date. “Music is my way of expressing myself with the HaShem. Anything that touches my heart – a verse, a prayer, an emotion – I automatically compose music for it. This is my communication.”

After a successful career spanning decades in the world of Jewish weddings in Europe and the US, he decided during the Corona period to focus on original work, and set up a recording studio in his home. Today, he balances original work with a partial return to the world of performances.

“I took the guitar and asked myself – how can I say thank you when we are in such a difficult situation? I can’t say thank you sadly, but I’m not completely happy either. And so I found my place: calmly, confidently, in prayer.” The song is characterized by a soothing melody and a comfortable rhythm that reflects the complex emotion of the time.

“I don’t compose a song for the listeners, it’s something internal that I feel I have to do. I hope that people will learn to say thank you – thank you to a person, gratitude. It’s the simplicity of it, from the soul.”

Beyond music, Baylis, together with his wife, developed The Kosher BnB – a unique platform that connects Jews all over the world for accommodation needs. “With the rise of anti-Semitism in the world, Jews feel more confident working with Jews,” explains Baylis. “The platform is developing rapidly and provides a sense of security and community.”
