Nerya Angel In A New Single For Lag BaOmer: “Sinai”
In honor of the celebration of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, DJ and singer Nerya Angel In A New Single For Lag BaOmer: “Sinai” launches a new and bouncy cover of the song “Sinai” – from the piyut “Va’amartem Kol Achai,” which was re-composed in 2018 by composer Moti Ilowitz.
“Sinai, Sinai, Loi Nikro, Ari Shebachbura” – this is how Angel opens the performance,
which comes in a modern Hasidic-EDM arrangement, with live clarinet and a soulful vocal performance.
This verse from the piyyut is considered by many to be the unofficial anthem of Lag BaOmer and the Meron celebration.
Since then, it has been performed by Ahrele Samet and the Malchut Choir, becoming a classic wedding hit –
and now getting new life with a modern electronic sound and a wide-band arrangement.
The cover of “Sinai” is just the opening shot –
These days, Angel is working on a number of original singles and surprising productions that are expected to be released very soon.
