Purim Crashers Music Video Brings The Party With Gad Elbaz & His Buddy Bodi

When Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson made the hilarious film “Wedding Crashers” they likely had no idea is would spawn a Purim music video. The new YouTube video “Purim Crashers – Venahafoch Hu” features Jewish music star Gad Elbaz and Bodi Music founder Sam “Bodi” Bodenheimer.

Elbaz, an Israeli native known for numerous hits including “Hashem Melech” moved to America five years ago can be found in New York or Miami. It’s the Floridian city where he met Bodi at a Shabbat dinner a few months ago, where some people actually crashed, though they were both invited.

“It’s a song that is catchy, fun and perfect for Purim,” said Elbaz who added that this is his first video that shows a humorous side.

The Hebrew words “Venahafoch Hu,” mean the opposite of what was expected took place, coming from the miracle of Purim that Mordechai was to be hanged according to Haman’s plot but it was really Haman who was hanged and the Jews were victorious, rather than being victims.

Bodi said he hopes the video will bring smiles and a time where it is needed and a close family member recovered from a difficult bout of Covid.
“Purim is about having fun, masking and un-masking and we’ve obviously had a tough time with the pandemic which began around Purim two years ago,” Bodi said. “We hope now for the opposite that we are ushering in a time of light and health and happiness for everyone.”
