Singer & Songwriter Amnon Ben Shach Releases New Single: “Yosef”

For the 1st of Tammuz, the day of the Hilula of Yosef Hatzaddik, singer and songwriter Amnon Ben Shach releases a new single: “Yosef,” a moving and profound song dedicated to the figure of the righteous Yosef, the beloved son of our forefather Yaakov.
The connection between Amnon and the figure of the righteous Yosef is deep and personal. “I really love the figure of the righteous Yosef and am connected to it,” says Amnon. “Yosef would dream dreams that his brothers would harass him and throw him into a pit full of snakes and scorpions, where he survived through joy and faith in the Hashem, until he reached Egypt and ascended to the throne.”
The text of the song was written by Amnon several years ago, and was already included in a book of songs that he published two years ago. The melody was created in collaboration with Omer Quint, his friend, and the musical production was by Roman Greenblatt. “Part of Roman’s soul is also in the song,” says Amnon.
The song is being released at a time when many people go to the grave of Yosef HaTzaddik. Light a candle for him and pray that his right will protect the people of Israel. “This is my way of honoring Yosef HaTzaddik,” emphasizes Amnon.
Amnon Ben Shach, 43, from Ramat Gan, is a multidisciplinary artist who combines poetry, composition and spiritual depth. Amnon is a Baal Teshuvah who has lived music since a young age. He breathes and studies the teachings and stories of Rabbi Nachman and the stories of the Tzaddik. The single “Yosef” is another taste of a full album on the way, most of which are songs he wrote and composed himself, alongside a psalm from a number of Psalms that he composed, and of course the song “Yosef“. The album, which will be produced entirely by Roman Greenblatt, will combine styles of pop-rock, country and world music.
