Rabbi Akiva Homnick In A New Performance Of His Composition ‘Mayrachok’
Following a trip to Poland with his students at the ‘Chaye Olam’ Yeshiva, Rabbi Akiva Homnick Shlita performed a version of his composition ‘Mayrachok‘ together with Yisrael Meir and Shayka Hershler.
There is no chasidic music lover who does not know the name of Rabbi Akiva Homnick , Shlita, the head of the Chayei Olam Yeshiva in Beit Shemesh. Rabbi Homnick , who composed huge hits such as “Chamol al Ma’asecha“, “Shalom Aleichem“, “Ilan” and more, has never sung his own melodies.
Now, for the first time, following an exciting journey in Poland with his students, Rabbi Homnick entered the studio and re-performed the song “Mayrachok” together with musicians Yisrael Meir and Shayka Hershler, that he composed about 35 years ago. The original performance of the song is by Mendy Werdyger from the album “Ani Holeich B’Simcha”. It is now been given a fresh version in a new musical production by Eli Klein and Yitzy Berry.
