Barak Grossberg In A Cover In Memory of Avi Piamenta – Osim Tshuva

On the occasion of these important days – Aseres Yemei Tshuva, Chabad singer-songwriter and guitarist Barak Grossberg presents a refreshing rendition of the well-known chasidic hit “Osim Tshuva“, dedicated to the memory of the renowned Chabad singer and flutist Rabbi Avi Piamenta, who brought Barak and many others closer to the Torah.

The song “Osim Tsuva“, written by guitarist Danny Maman, has received several performances over the years, the most famous of which is by the world-renowned Chabad singer and flutist Rabbi Avi Piamenta, who, as is well known, passed away about 3 months ago suddenly, leaving many shocked and in pain.

Rabbi Avi was a popular and beloved Chabad follower who was privileged to become close to the Rebbe in the late 1970s, along with his brother, guitarist Yossi. The two were privileged to play with the Rebbe at Beit Chaiinu 770 many times and to play a significant role in spreading the springs and Chabad activities throughout the world.

Barak, who has just returned from an extensive tour of the US and Canada in Chabad houses in honor of the month of Elul, presents an innovative performance of the famous song in memory of Avi Piamenta, who repented following the 19th of Kislev performance at the Chabad house in Tel Aviv under his house, a performance that opened Barak‘s heart and brought him closer to Torah and mitzvot for the first time.

The shared story of Barak and Avi Piamenta is described in a spectacular music video filmed in Kfar Chabad. It was released about 4 years ago alongside an original song composed by Barak, “OMG,” which received wide global exposure. On the occasion of Aseres Yemei Tshuva, Barak continues their musical connection with a moving cover in his memory, “Osim Tshuva,” based on a passage from the Gemara in Tractate Sanhedrin, “All the officers are gone, and the matter depends only on repentance and good deeds,” a passage that the Rebbe repeated hundreds of times, especially in the years 1991-1992.

Just about 3 months ago, Barak released a new album “Rotsa Leheraga” with its theme song that has accumulated over half a million views and many airplays on radio stations, but when Barak received the difficult news of his father’s passing, he felt the need to commemorate the special connection between them and dedicate a song to his memory.
