Band EDEN Releases New Single “One Day”
The decision to cover “One Day”, as performed by Matisyahu, came from the realization that the song’s message reflects one of the collective desires of EDEN. More simply, they just really liked the concept behind the song and wanted to do it!
In “One Day”, Matisyahu portrays a world where people live in harmony with one another. He longs for a future world where violence and hatred are bywords and nations live peaceably with each other. A world where “a nation will no longer lift sword against a nation and they shall no longer study war..,” (Yeshayah 2:4 and Micah 4:3) This idea, encapsulated in the TaNaKh, is one that the members of EDEN, also long to see one day. So… it wasn’t such a stretch for them to consider covering a song that expresses a desire that they share with each other and wish to share with you-the listener. Quite a number of songs in EDEN’s published catalog address this concept and so covering this song in our own musical style was a logical step for the band.
Indeed, we hope that by covering this song, which speaks to the fulfillment of the Nevuot quoted above that we will have, if Heaven permits, contributed in whatever small way along with our own repertoire, to the realization of peace for all Yisrael and all Mankind. May we see it quickly in our own days!
