Yosef Gestetner & Eli Levin In A Moving Ballad “Melech Rachaman”

Inspired by the tefillah of “Umipnei Chataeinu,” this song captures the deep yearning of the Jewish people for the Beis Hamikdash and for the day we will once again return to serve Hashem in the holy place He chose for us.

These powerful words, recited during Mussaf on the Shalosh Regalim, remind us of the pain of exile “Because of our sins we were exiled from our land” – while at the same time carrying the hope, faith, and longing for the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash במהרה בימינו.

As Shavuos approaches, “Melech Rachaman” gives voice to that yearning we all carry deep inside – for Hashem’s mercy, redemption, and the rebuilding of the Bais Hamikdash. The melody and emotion of this song were created to bring that feeling to life – the ache, the longing, and the connection we all feel for what we are missing.

Yosef Gestetner originally wrote this composition over 15 years ago, and bringing it back now feels more meaningful than ever. May it be speedily in our days.
