In the midst of complex days, alongside great pain and chaos on the one hand, and a sense of rebirth and endless miracles on the other, Yonatan Razel chooses to direct an optimistic gaze towards the future and releases a single called ‘Hayinu Kicholmim‘. “Those who sow in tears will reap in joy,” these ancient words from the Tehillim, describing tears but also hope, tell the story of the era. The composition is by Yonatan Razel and the musical arrangement is by Yonatan Razel and Gilad Shmueli.

Yonatan shares: “There are very few texts that are so iconic, even within our world of prayer. You can literally hear the Leviim standing on the steps, the people in the fields sowing and reaping in tears and joy, the first fruits ascending to Jerusalem and the people of Israel singing, walking and singing.

And as ancient as these words are, they touch us even today. A kind of anthem of our hope. We are the people who sowed so much in tears, but also know how to always rejoice and hope to reap in joy. And this hope is one of the reasons we are here again at home.

I composed this melody inspired by the ancient synagogue in Susya, where many years ago I was privileged to be a shepherd and walk among the fields. I am excited to release the song at this time, in prayer for complete redemption and good news very soon.”
