Shaya Lexier With A New Single “L’Dovid”
L’Dovid Hashem Ori is more than just a tehilim, a psalm. It represents the quintessence of true faith during these holy days of Elul and the Yamim Nora’im, penned by our great king and shepherd, David HaMelech. Dovid Hamelech left us an everlasting handwritten personification of the bitachon that he held in his heart, knowing with complete conviction, that Hashem was with him, and is with us, in every breath, every step and every moment of our lives.
David HaMelech faced tumultuous and frightening times during his heroic and storied life, battling enemies who hunted him relentlessly. Yet his heart never wavered. With a fierce love for Hashem, he declared: ‘Hashem Ori Vi’yishi! Hashem is my light, whom shall I fear?’ He knew he was never alone. He knew that with Hashem, he’d never fail.
And so it is with us. On a smaller scale, we all experience times of doubt or uncertainty, perhaps even darkness, but we must live with a fiery conviction that Hashem is holding our hand, guiding us on this journey of life. He will never let us fail or forsake us.
The words of this tehilim have always inspired me deeply, and so I wrote this song to share that warmth with you. I dedicate my new song, L’Dovid, to every Yid. I bless everyone that the year ahead be filled with joy, sweetness, limitless blessing, success and good health. And especially, unity for all of Klal Yisrael.
I hope you enjoy.
