Hershy Bleich – Oygelech
In a world where distractions often cloud our vision, Hershy Bleich felt a profound need to focus on the good around us. One day, while at a gas station, he encountered something unsettling that inspired him to seek clarity and beauty through music. This moment led to the creation of “Oygelech,” a heartfelt prayer asking Hashem to help us see only goodness in our lives.
“Oygelech” reflects our struggles with the sights we encounter daily and emphasizes our desire to control our gaze. Through sincere prayer, we can ask Hashem for guidance in seeing the positive, as echoed in the pasuk we recite during Kriyas Shma:
ולא תתורו אחרי לבבכם ואחרי עיניכם
Let us commit to guarding our eyes from inappropriate sights and focus on the good in ourselves and others.
