Lyrics:
A drive at night with cloudy skies,
cracks of thunder and piercing light,
you can say, that I’m lost,
with a path, left to cross,
and the cold, it’s inside, my every cell.
The road ahead still feels so long,
I pray I can make it before dawn,
yet the further I go,
is just further from home,
heading deeper and deeper into a storm.
I don’t know what to expect,
it’s all so real now no more pretend,
just gotta start the engine,
forget all the tension,
I’ve got my goals so i still-
Hold on,
Continue to drive on,
I got my, lights along, the highway,
with them I’ll be ok,
I’ve set my goals, my destination,
the music’s on, my favorite station,
making my way through the dark,
following the signs,
my highway lights.
Hitting a fork I don’t know where to turn,
second guessing my every move,
when will I learn.
Is forward really the best way to go.
Is what I think I see,
really whats meant to be,
the demons inside,
don’t seem to agree,
But the shine oh it pulls,
to a place where our souls,
can feel at peace once more.
I don’t know what to expect,
it’s all so real now no more pretend,
just gotta start the engine,
forget all the tension,
I’ve got my goals so i still-
Hold on,
Continue to drive on,
I got my, lights along, the highway,
with them I’ll be ok,
I’ve set my goals, my destination,
the music’s on, my favorite station,
making my way through the dark,
following the signs,
my highway lights.
Start it up, show ’em all,
that there is a power in you that,
cannot be vanquished, no matter what life throws at you,
cause inside you’re special, you are different, a speeding bullet,
speeding faster, then sound, that is ready to face the world.
Hold on,
Continue to drive on,
I got my, lights along, the highway,
with them I’ll be ok,
I’ve set my goals, my destination,
the music’s on, my favorite station,
making my way through the dark,
following the signs,
my highway lights.
