ILAN – YITZY WALDNER FEATURING YAAKOV SHWEKEY

This sensational single delights the ear and uplifts the heart. Performed to perfection by legendary singer-songwriter Yitzy Waldner and vocal virtuoso Yaakov Shwekey, “Ilan” is a song that will move you with every listen.

As renowned askan and philanthropist Mr. Shlomo Werdiger neared his seventieth birthday, the Werdiger family approached singer-songwriter Yitzy Waldner, the composer behind two decades of Jewish hits, with a request: create a song that embodies Shlomo’s deep love for all Jews and his heartfelt hopes for a brighter future for the next generation.

Yitzy rose to the occasion with the soul-stirring “Ilan,” a melody that exquisitely reflects the richness of emotion he poured into it. While he typically passes his compositions to other vocalists, this time Yitzy wasn’t ready to let go. “Ilan” was special, and Yitzy was going to give it his own voice. To put the finishing touch on his masterpiece, Yitzy turns to his longtime brother in Jewish music, superstar Yaakov Shwekey, to join him in a duet. Himself a close friend of the Werdiger family, Shwekey enthusiastically agreed to lend his voice to the project.

Together, Yitzy Waldner and Yaakov Shwekey deliver a moving, masterful performance that transports its listeners to the world of Shlomo’s dreams: a place where Jewish youth are inspired to take on the mission of their fathers, and elders glow with pride in the achievements of their descendants.
