The song “Ashrei” was composed after a meeting between Chasidic singer Mendy Jerufi and David Zingman.
David Zigman wrote and composed the “Ashrei” after being exposed to the life story of Mendy Jerufi of Chabad chassidus.
Mendy learned and was mekabel a shlichus from the Lubavitcher Rebbe to be Marbim Besimcha people all over the world.
It was then that Mendy decided chodesh Adar was the time to release the song to the world and cheer up b’nei yisroel.
