[Exclusive] The Best of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach

The Best of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach is a compilation created by Tav Hashmini (The Eighth Note) for release in Israel. Sojourn Records, a NYC-based record label with the exclusive license from the Estate of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, partnered with the Israeli label late last year. The 28-song compilation draws from seven of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach’s releases and charts a chronological progression beginning in 1959 with Haneshema Lach and continues through Days Are Coming (1978) and L’Kovod Shabbos (1980). It is a comprehensive collection of many of R. Carlebach’s famous melodies, and is especially well-suited for the individual who is undecided about which of his many titles to purchase. The compilation will be made available in the United States in limited quantities by Sojourn Records. The label is planning to have the physical release available in late August or early September 2011. The compilation is available digitally at sojournrecords.com.
