“Shabbos Now” is a song that is looking through the eyes of a young Jewish person, who is tracing his roots and recounting how his grandfather – “Zaidie”, was never overcome by hardship because he always had Shabbos to look forward to. (Shabbos is the Jewish Sabbath.)
