Your New Shabbat: Shlomi Katzenelbogen & Yitzchak Meir – ‘Ka Echsof’

There is no Jewish home that does not know and sing the well-known tune ‘Ka Echsof‘, singer and composer Shlomi Katzenelbogen makes history and presents a new performance of his own – some say even surpassing the original. In the new song, Shlomi hosts Yitzhak Meir, and the connection between the different musical worlds creates a wholeness that only such a moving poem can express. The composition is by Shlomi Katzenelbogen himself and the musical production is by Yehuda Galili, under the artistic direction of Moishe Roth.

After a variety of “kumzitz” songs that Shlomi composed in recent years and which were very successful, “Ka Echsof” is a kind of moving Shabbos ballad that will put you in a sublime atmosphere. The combination between Shlomi Katzenelbogen, who has established himself in recent years as a leading kumzitz artist in the Charedi sector, and Yitzhak Meir, who is considered the father of the genre in the religious sector, creates an interesting connection between musical worlds, with the common denominator between them being the emotion that bursts from the poetry and provides an interpretation of the words of the piyyut.
