Yosef Levy In An Exciting Debut Single & Video: “Choneinu”

Singer, Yosef Levy, originally from Gibraltar, learned to lein and daven both as a baal tefillah and chazzan from a young age. After learning in Yeshiva in Israel and getting married, he found himself living in Great Neck, NY, where he became a Chazzan. He has always had a love for music. These last few years he has released a few covers of some of his favorite songs, but he still always dreamt of releasing original music.

In 2022, after a friend of his suggested that he should reach out to world renowned composer and producer Yitzy Waldner to see if they could work together, Yosef did just that. Through a Zoom meeting Yitzy got to know the young singer. It was during that conversation that Yosef let Yitzy known that he really connected to the words from tachanun חׇנֵּ֣נוּ יְהֹוָ֣ה חׇנֵּ֑נוּ and always has in mind extra kavana when saying them. Yitzy took that information and composed a beautiful melody to accompany these timeless words, asking Hashem for forgiveness. For the arrangement Yosef reached out to the mega talented singer, songwriter, producer, arranger Aryeh Kunstler. While the song was coming together, Yosef thought that maybe a visual to accompany the song would help listeners to really connect to the song. He then approached video maven Motty Berkowitz who is responsible for many of the hit videos of today including Lchai Olamim (Matt Dubb), Nagila (Mordechai Shapiro), Achdus (Moshe Tischler) and others. The result is below Enjoy and Share.

Amen to the words of the song being answered favorably by Hashem and may we all be dancing with the Mashiach very soon.
