Yoni Z Shares His Most Personal Song Yet: We Will Dance Again
Yoni Z has released We Will Dance Again, a moving new single written in response to the tragedy of October 7th and the pain felt across Am Yisrael in the months since.
Written over the course of a year and produced by longtime collaborator Shloimy Zaltzman, the song was shaped by emotions many are still carrying—heartbreak, loss, and the struggle to hold onto hope. “My family knew someone who was killed at the Nova Music Festival,” Yoni shares. “That pain stayed with me. Visiting the Nova exhibit in New York helped crystallize what I was trying to say—this song comes from a very real place.” Following his recent marriage, Yoni shared that he intends to continue writing from this deeper, more mature place.
While much of Yoni’s music speaks primarily to the frum community, this track was written with the hope that it resonates with Jews and supporters everywhere. As we continue to pray for the safe return of the hostages and for healing for the wounded, the song is a reminder that—even after everything—we’re still here. And we will dance again.
We Will Dance Again is available now on all major streaming platforms.
Lyrics:
Verse 1
Dancing in the morning light
Darkness breaks through
Sirens turn to battle cries
But I couldn’t save you
Pre-Chorus
Shadows and echoes of beautiful spirits fly
Tried to break you, but they could not steal your light
Chorus
Dance on, dance on in heaven tonight
Surrounded by angels
And I may cry
But I know that in time
We will dance again
Dance on, dance on in heaven tonight
Surrounded by angels
And I may cry
But I know that in time
We will dance again
Verse 2
Seasons change but I stay the same
Frozen in time
Close my eyes and feel your heart
Still beating in mine
Pre-Chorus
Shadows and echoes of beautiful spirits fly
Tried to break you, but they could not steal your light
Chorus
Dance on, dance on in heaven tonight
Surrounded by angels
And I may cry
But I know that in time
We will dance again
Outro
Dance on
Dance on in heaven tonight
Dance on
Dance on in heaven tonight
