Yitbarach Shimcha: The Duet That Connects A Forgotten Poem To The Dance Floor!

The connection between them, between the wedding arena and the recording studio, gives rise to a performance that mixes depth and holiness with a contemporary and energetic beat.
The song is based on Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach‘s original melody based on a verse from the blessing “Yitbarach Shimcha bifi Kol chai tamid l’olam va’ed.”
A melody that has been deeply embedded in hearts but has hardly been performed in contemporary performances.
Neryah Angel, a DJ and composer known for his unique combination of live music and soul partying,
chose to take the poem to the place where he meets the liveliest audience: the arena.
“This song has been in my head for a long time. I felt that now, with the beginning of the Bein hazmanim,
is the right moment to release it. It also opens the new set that is being released today, a precise connection between the roots and the present.” Nerya says.
Alongside him, his older brother Aviad Gil performs the song, writing, and recording it in his home studio.
“There’s something powerful about singing with your brother. Every word takes on a different meaning,” says Aviad.
The duet between the brothers manages to distill an ancient emotion into a relevant sound,
one that speaks to both the religious, the traditional, and anyone looking for a true connection.
