Tzur Mishelo – Yaakov Rosenfeld – Martin Widerker
The debated poem, now in a spectacular video clip – watch this!
The zemer “Tzur Mishelo“, which is wide-spread among the Jews, is famously debated over the question whether it fulfills the obligation to recite the blessing after meal, or not. In order to satisfy also those who answer that question positively, it is appropriate to recite this poem only after the blessing after meal, so as to avoid entering a situation of a doubt.
This poem, which contains words of praise and thanks to the creator for His wonderful world, has lately been set to music with a beautiful and charming melody by composer Meir Martin Widerker and performed by cantor Yaakov Yitzchak Rosenfeld with a specially graceful interpretation of the words of this holy poem.
On occasion of the Tu Bishvat holiday, Widerker is presenting the song accompanied by a spectacular-culinary video clip, which will take you to a journey to the 7 species of plants for which the land Israel was praised, further with the special products which are made out of these species, and finally a reminder, in Hebrew acronym, about the correct order of the blessings which are said before consuming different types of foods: Grains, Wine, Fruit, Vegetables and finally other foods.
“Tzur Mishelo“, among all other songs included in the record series “Shabbos Hamalka,” was arranged by the world renowned pianist Menachem Bristowski, and is accompanied by the “International Yedidim Choir.”
May you have a Tu bishvat holiday of growth and blossoming, Shabbat Shalom and enjoy watching!
