Special & Innovative Production: Yonatan Nitzan & Dudi Brim Renew “Ata Bechartanu”

An ancient Chassidic melody from Boyan, given a refreshing new arrangement and performance, performed by Dudi Brim and Yonatan Nitzan, accompanied by the innovative and promising ensemble “Shtela“.

The melodies of Pinia Chazan zt”l – the renowned composer of the Boyan family – are known for their musical and professional complexity, and are sung to this day on every occasion and holiday.

A surprising and interesting collaboration between Dudi Brim – choir conductor, vocal coach and Boyan Chassid, who grew up among its melodies and absorbed its spirit – and musician Yonatan Nitzan, one of the most prominent among the students and members of the “Abir Yaakov” community in Tel Aviv, headed by the Rebbe Mordechai Auerbach shlit”a, brings a new and profound musical approach to the melody that is customary to sing in their communities on holiday days.

Dudi writes: “Yonatan’s wonderful arrangement and orchestration, the combination of styles, creates a special harmony and expresses the interpretation of the words and the depth of the prayer. Special and innovative production: Yonatan Nitzan and Dudi Brim renew “Ata Bheratnu.”

Yonatan writes: “It is a great privilege to take a sacred melody that has been sung for generations in holy communities, and give it a new interpretation and approach, to make it accessible to more audiences and the current generation. I felt that we should not leave it to ourselves. I hope that it will touch and lift more and more hearts in Israel. The combination with my uncle’s approach and knowledge brought the production to other levels.”
