New Single – Rogers Park: Oh Hanukkah (its in Yiddish too!)
Rogers Park’s latest release for Chanukkah is “Oh Hanukkah” – a blend of the English and Yiddish lyrics to this classic Chanukkah tune. After playing at dozens of Chabad shluchim and communities across the United States on Chanukkah concerts and public menorah lightings, the band wanted to capture the energy of their live show and are releasing a studio recording of an energetic dance version of “Oh Hanukkah”.
“In our concerts, we find that this is one of the well known and well-loved Chanukkah tunes for Jews of all backgrounds. We hope that the sweetness of the Chanukkah minhagim and Pirsumei Nissah within the song will bring the light of Chanukkah to Shluchim and Yidden all across the country. This is what we experience with hundreds and thousands of Yidden at the live concerts and we want to share this version with you so you can play it at your community’s Chanukah party”. – Yosef Peysin
“We wanted something new and current. Something that reminds you of your history and culture but also something you can easily stream.
We wanted to create a song that all Jews of all backgrounds & ages would enjoy playing at their Holiday party”. – Mordy Kurtz
Part of their #BringYiddishBack campaign, this tune prominently features the well-known Yiddish verses together with the English verse accompanied by high-energy acoustic and electric instrumentation.
Songs is available on all streaming platforms.
