Shoham Simchi – “Chosam Al Libcha”
Shoham Simchi, an artist and musician is well known beyond the Binyamin region where he lives. Over the past year his family has been busy making an exquisite album which includes touches by other family members. His
eldest daughter, Aviya, wrote the music and Shoham himself lends his voice charmingly to the score of original songs.
During the preparation of the album, two of the songs have already been released over the air, were played repeatedly and aroused much interest. First the public heard “Gishmei Orah”, then an exciting and surprising version of Yoram Taharlev’s “Ata Li Eretz”.
This latest hit “Chosam Al Libcha” was written by none other than Shlomo Hamelech in the Shir Hashirim. Aviya Simchi has taken the words and given them a romantic, contemporary musical interpretation, the sensitive
arrangement by Nadav Biton sets off the unusual melody. “As musicians”, explains Shoham “we often try to crack the genetic code of a successful song. What really makes it beautiful, the lyrics? The music? In my opinion the secret lies in the composition and how the music and the words go together. I believe that Sealed on your Heart has that fit that will make the song into a classic, one which moves everyone…”
Shoham Simchi is set to release his debut album in the coming weeks, at which time he will also embark on a round of performances throughout the country, in which he will present a quality show made up of songs from the
album as well as songs from his rich musical past.
