Reb Yitzi Ackerman In A New Single For The Month of Elul: “Areshet Sifateinu”
In preparation for the Yamim Noraim , Rabbi Itzi Ackerman is launching a new single – “Areshet Sifateinu“. He composed the melody himself with lyrics from the Yamim Noraim prayer, accompanied by a musical arrangement by Yiftach Dekel. The song focuses on the special moments after the blowing of the shofar in the recitation of Chazaras HaShatz, when the audience gathers to request and beg for a ksiva v’chasima tova.
Rabbi Yitzi shares: “Everyone knows the words, these are thrilling moments after the blowing of the shofar. I don’t remember when I composed the melody, but while working with Yiftach I became so connected to these wonderful words. They are a request, a plea, and again a supplication, that it may be accepted with mercy. My prayer is that the song may be accepted and rise to the will.”
The music video was filmed at Yeshiva Shaarei Yitzchak together with the boys, where an extraordinary atmosphere prevailed. The director Yanai encouraged the boys with words about the value of prayer – not only in the synagogue, but also in moments of technical activity such as photography. This inspiration was evident on the spot and led to a real and immersive prayer, as can also be felt in the music video.
