From The Desert To The Capital: The Surprising Journey of Shahar Ezra

He is only 24 years old, and has already made an extraordinary life journey: from a quiet and simple life as a shepherd in the Judean Mountains, to the release of his debut single. Shahar Ezra presents “Mikdash Melech” – a work that breathes new life into words written centuries ago by Rabbi Shlomo Elkabetz. Ben Prager’s music and Yonatan Shahar’s arrangement create a modern soundtrack to a story about kissufim.

The accompanying music video is a visual story of this journey. It follows Shahar on a personal journey from the open fields of the desert to the bustling streets of the city of Jerusalem. It is a dialogue between nature and holiness, between solitude and connection, all through the eyes of a young man living between worlds.

Shahar says: “I wanted the song to feel real, without filters. Life in the desert taught me to see the simple things, and that’s what I tried to bring to the music. I hope this song will give people a point of light and hope.”

Mikdash Melech” is not just a single, it is a journey, a diary of faith. It presents Shahar as an artist with a unique story, and gives a glimpse into an entire inner world that to this day is preserved in the vastness of the desert.
