New Album Ephy Greene – Samachti
Samachti is Ephy Greene’s second cd. With a style balanced between Carlebach and a more modern-jewish rock, Ephy’s music is geared toward igniting one’s Neshama with Ahavas Hashem. A rebbe in Yeshivas Toras Shraga in Yerushalayim, Ephy spends most of his time teaching Torah and inspiring his students in Avodas Hashem. The songs featured on his disks are geared toward a similar goal, inspiring the listener toward greater Ahavas Hashem. Each tune, through its lyrics and music, transmits a message. The Samachti album, opening with Shalom Aleichem, focuses on the excitement of welcoming Shabbos, the title track Samachti, celebrates the “coming home” to Jerusalem, Gam Ki Eilech is a song connecting to the Kedoshim of the Holocaust, and Yisbarach is a love song to Hashem. Whereas most of the songs are based on Tefilos, the last few songs on the cd relate to Yamim Tovim, introducing new tunes that can be sung at the Yom Tov table. Noteworthy is the second track, Yisbarach, which aside from being a beautiful tune, features guest vocals from Shlomo Katz and Yosef Karduner. Samachti is a wonderful listening experience, whether you’re looking for exciting niggunim or for soft, kumzitz-type tunes. Ephy can be contacted at [email protected] and the cd will be for sale at www.mostlymusic.com.
