Eli Dachs – Ma Rabu
Singer Eli Dachs heard some chords from the next room. He opened the door and saw Dovid Levinger on his guitar. Eli felt those chords and instantly came up with a melody on the words “Ma Rabu Ma’asecha Hashem.” The next day, Eli heard a Shiur on the words “Tov Li Toras Picha,” and fell in love with the concept. Eli had a dilemma which Posuk to use.
He ran to the Rav and told him about his dilemma, and the Rav laughed and said, “Put them together!” Eli was confused and replied, “but they’re two totally different things?” The Rav then replied, “Ma Rabu represents the beauty of Hashem’s gorgeous world and the physicality, and Tov Li represents the beauty of Hashem’s Torah and the spirituality.”
Who said spiritual and physical can’t blend?
