Avraham Fried Sings Aleh Katan with Special Children
Avraham Fried met and sang with SHALVA children with special needs in preparation for a giant concert in early June in Efrat, the population center of Gush Etzion.
SHALVA, founded in May of 1990 by Kalman and Malki Samuels, creates a therapeutic environment in which special needs children can thrive and grow, in particular giving their parents a break by caring for the special needs children after school hours. Dozens of SHALVA children, along with members of the Samuels family and Efrat Mayor Oded Ravivi, welcomed Fried, who sang with the children, many of whom participated with musical instruments.
Fried said he was very moved by appearing with the children and that although he has performed at several charity functions in the past, SHALVA “is very important and special.” He added that meeting the children personally helps him make the June 7 performance for all of Gush Etzion “one that will never be forgotten.
