A New & Exciting Duet: Avi Ilson & Ahrela Samet – “Hamelamed Torah”

Ahead of the Shabbat of Matan Torah, singers Avi Ilson and Ahrela Samet release a new and exciting duet called “Hamelamed Torah” together with a musical choir, a special combination of deep musical joy and moving spiritual content.

The melody is based on a work by the Karlin Chassidic Rabbi Yisrael Yuda Kula, who was killed for sanctifying Hashem. The words are taken from the sources – and were incorporated into the melody by the late Maran Admor of the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Shlita, a combination of fire and flame that gives the song an inner strength about the connection between the people of Israel and the Creator of the world, and a connection to the roots and tradition.

Hamelamed Torah” is a universal song that manages to touch the heart of every Jew, to thank and bless Hashem for the immense privilege of ‘choosing us’ from all the nations. There is no doubt that the powerful connection between the words and the melody, gives a new interpretation every morning when reciting the Torah blessings, as well as during the blessing at the Aliyah to the Torah.

Hamelamed Torah‘ is the next hit in the entire wedding world, an ironclad asset on the playlist of Hachnasat Sefer Torahs and Siyum HaShas’s expected in the coming year.

Composition: Rabbi Yisrael Yuda Kula
Lyrics: Mekorot
Arrangement and musical production: Moishe and Srulik Mendelsohn
Direction and editing of the clip: Hershy Segal
