A Fascinating & Exciting Intergenerational Encounter: A New Version of The Classic “Mechila”

In a year that has been defined as the most creative in his young career, singer Shay Viner surprises with a special project that connects generations and traditions. Together with writer and composer Daniel Chen, who also serves as the musical arranger of the project, Viner presents a new and touching version of Avishai Eshel‘s timeless hit “Mechila” that was written with great talent by the legendary Rami Lev.
The new project bridges the gap between extremes – between East and West, between young and old, and between ancient tradition and our modern existence. The new performance preserves the depths of the original message while providing a contemporary and fresh interpretation of the Israeli classic.
The release of the new version is particularly relevant during the days of mercy and forgiveness, reminding us of the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation between man and man. The Sages have already ruled in the Mishnah in Masaches Yoma: “For transgressions between man and man, Yom Kippur does not atone until he reconciles his friend” – a message that requires mutual forgiveness as a condition for achieving true atonement.
“The intergenerational meeting in the studio transmits an important message to all of us,” explains the creative team. “Mutual forgiveness is a must at this time, regardless of age, social or political affiliation.”
Shay Viner – a young singer who is in the most creative year of his career, is widely recognized for his original compositions and touching performances. Daniel Chen – a talented composer, writer and arranger, co-composer and responsible for the musical arrangement of the new version.
