For The First Time With His Voice: Yehuda Glili In A Personal & Moving Single For The Month of Elul
We all know Yehuda Glili‘s arrangements, playing and productions from the big stages and albums. This time he takes the stage for the first time. In preparation for the Days of Mercy and Forgiveness, Glili launches a new and surprising single that he composed, arranged and, for the first time in his career, also performs with his voice.
At the heart of the song are Rashi’s poignant words (from the Sifri) about Moshe’s supplication in Parshat Va’etchanan: “You are not like a king of flesh and blood who has counselors and a council of elders who are at his side… You have no one to rejoice in your hand if you pardon me and revoke your decree.” This is a message of hope and faith that is perfectly suited to the atmosphere of the High Holy Days, the knowledge that even when it seems that the decree has been sealed, the gates of mercy are open and no one can hinder the Creator from forgiving.
Lyrics: Rashi, Deuteronomy 3:24
Composition, arrangement and musical production: Yehuda Galili
Public relations and media: Israel Rosen
