Ready For The Yamim Noraim: New Song Released During The Days of Mercy & Forgiveness– “Licha Livadcha”
Singer and composer Shmuel (29) has become one of the most fascinating, profound and beloved voices in Jewish music in recent years, thanks to hits like “Ten Li Tefilla” and “Nekudot” that have captured radio stations and hearts.
On his way to his debut album, Shmuel has recently released several songs – “Ani Mevorach”, the duet “Kol Pa’am Maychadash” with Yishai Ribo – and now, in the spirit of the Days of Mercy and Forgiveness, Shmuel is releasing a new and touching single: “Licha Livadcha” that is suitable for every moment in a person’s life.
In the song, Shmuel presents a holy and open confession, which begins with the chilling words:
“”לך לבדך חטאתי ולא לאף מלאך / ביני ובינך משפטי, א-ל טוב וסלח”Go alone, I have sinned, and not against any angel / Between me and you are my judgment, God is good and forgiving”
The song, which speaks of the direct, direct and intimate connection of man with his Creator, moves between a deep personal plea and a collective cry for the people of Israel. In a text full of layers, about the path that every person goes through and on the other hand – about the infinite mercy of the Judge of Truth:
“Only before you is the God who judges the whole world in the measure of the merit of every living being justified”
And a heartfelt request, in the difficult days that are passing us by:
“Please, Hashem, have mercy on your desolate home and send healing to your land / Have mercy on my heavy body and my mute heart and my weary soul… For who will have mercy on your children if not you”.
“Lech Livadcha” is another single from the new album, which is due to be released in the month of Kislev, which is coming upon us for good.
Lyrics and music: Shmuel
