“Vati’Orer Livavainu” – Shmulik Gafner

“Vati’Orer Livavainu” – Shmulik Gafner

On the day of the yartzeit of the holy tzaddik Rabbi Elimelech of Liszensk, the Chassidic singer Shmulik Gafner is releasing a new and exciting single based on words from the tzaddik’s well-known prayer.

The story behind the song began last year, on the day of the Yahrzeit, Gafner arrived at the Zion of Rabbi Elimelech in Liszensk, Poland. The special atmosphere, the sounds of the melodies and the open hearts around the tziyon moved him deeply. In a moment of inspiration, the thought came to his mind that next year, for the day of the yartzeit, Gafner would release a new melody in honor of the tzaddik.

A few months later, a friend approached him with a new melody based on words from the prayer said before the prayer of Rabbi Elimelech of Liszensk. The combination of the sacred words and the moving melody created a song full of emotion and longing, one that expresses the depth of prayer and longing for the closeness of HaShem.

Now, on the day of Hilula, Gafner is releasing the song, in memory of the righteous man, with the hope that the new tune will touch hearts and accompany many in moments of prayer and awakening.
