Towards The Yahrzeit: Sendi Dinkel Launches New Chassidic Single “Kivrei Tzaddikim”

Ahead of the Yahrzeit of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, the late Noam Elimelech, the star Chassidic singer “Sendi Dinkel” launches a new hit – “Kivrei Tzaddikim.” It deals with the great flood and the connection of the Jewish people in our generation to the graves of the righteous.

It is difficult to ignore the deep connection that has arisen in our generation – the generation of “Ikvisa DiMashicha” between the Jewish people and the graves of the righteous. This phenomenon, which was not prominent in the past, has been intensifying in recent years. Today, Jews of all stripes feel a special awakening, and their hearts open at the resting place of the righteous of the generations to which they flock in droves. And they often visit them on Yahrzeit and all year round. On the other hand, the many motivations that have intensified in recent years around davening at the graves of the righteous on the day of the yahrtzeit, such as this year when the skies are closed and it is impossible to get from Israel to Lisensk, also testify to the great importance of the matter.

Sendi, who also burst into the public consciousness as a talented and creative hitmaker who knows how to tap into the precise taste of the audience, says: The idea to sing about the “Kivrei Tzaddikim-graves of the righteous” was born to me when I visited the grave of the divine Tanna Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes in Tiveria. There, the thought occurred to me to write a song that would not deal with a specific righteous person, but with the entire concept – the graves of the righteous. Later, while praying in the book “Likkutei Tefilot“, I came across the sacred language of Rabbi Nosson of Breslov who writes: “In the times of the Mashiach we have no hope except through the righteous.” Based on these words, I wrote the line: “In the graves of the righteous, the gates of the heart will open,” and I added the names of righteous people from different generations.

With the concept and lyrics, I turned to the great composer Eli Klein, who composed them and turned the holy idea into a catchy and memorable hit that never stops playing in my head, and here is the result before you. Their right will protect us and the entire Jewish people.
