Aryeh Hurwitz With His First Original Composition “Ilu Finu”

“Ilu Finu” is Aryeh Hurwitz’s first original composition, marking a meaningful milestone in his musical journey as both a singer and composer.

The song was developed in close collaboration with Bentzi Marcus of 8th Day Band, blending thoughtful musical arrangements with a moving cantorial bridge that reflects the depth of the tefillah.

The lyrics of “אִלּוּ פִינוּ” come from Nishmas Kol Chai in Shabbos morning davening and express a powerful idea about praise itself. We can do the impossible because we have the tools that Hashem gave us! The song opens with אִלּוּ פִינוּ מָלֵא שִׁירָה כַיָּם—even if our mouths were filled with song and our expression had no limits, it would still not be enough to properly praise Hashem.

However, “אָבער” true praise becomes possible only through אֵבָרִים שֶׁפִּלַּגְתָּ בָּנוּ וְרוּחַ וּנְשָׁמָה שֶׁנָּפַחְתָּ בְּאַפֵּינוּ—the limbs and soul Hashem gave us—and when we use those very gifts to serve and glorify Him. In that moment, הֵן הֵם יוֹדוּ וִיבָרְכוּ—those gifts themselves give thanks, bless, and praise His Name. (As explained by The Lubavitcher Rebbe)

“Ilu Finu” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
