Arik Dvir In A New & Exciting Rendition of “Nisa Livaveinu”

The song “Nisa Livaveinu” was first composed about 42 years ago, in the heart of the Bnei Torah camp, during a trip to Nachal Dolev. Rabbi Yehoshua Kanel, shlita, who was asked to compose a song on certain words, but the words did not fit the melody, instead suggested words that had been in his head for some time, from Megillas Eicha: “נשא לבבנו אל כפיים אל קל בשמים”-We have lifted our hearts to the palms of our hands, to the light in the heavens.” The interpretation that accompanies the song is profound and thought-provoking. Before a person stands in prayer, he should place his heart in his hands, and only then turn to the Creator.

Arik Dvir, a singer and owner of a leading orchestra in Israel and the world, says that this song has accompanied him throughout the years, until not long ago, at a wedding event for a young man from Yeshiva Ateret Yisrael, he was asked to sing it. The repeated requests from the audience, the feeling while singing ignited something in him. “I sang the song, and I knew: One day I will release it in a contemporary arrangement,” and that day came.

The arrangement and musical production were signed by arranger Tal Barak – the guitarist who also accompanies Arik in his daily performances. When Arik received the song, he immediately jumped on the project and together they created a new version that retains the original sentiment, but is wrapped in a modern and exciting sound.
