Fried & Helfgot: Retzei | Hatzalah-Thon 2020
Lag B’Omer 2020 was a historic day.
In the midst of this terrible pandemic, over 2.5 million people from all over the world tuned in to watch a once in a lifetime event, the Central Hatzalah & United for Protection worldwide Hatzalah-Thon. Spearheaded by the founders of United for Protection; Shloimy Greenwald, Zalmy Cohen & Berel Junik, the event was a staggering success, raising 15 million dollars in 24 hours!
The event featured The Freilach Band alongside many of the biggest names in Jewish Music accompanied by The Shira Choir. One of the highlights of the evening was when Chazzan Yitzchok Meir Helfgot, who has just recently recovered from the Coronavirus joined Avraham Fried on stage to sing this Yossi Green classic.
