Al Naharot Bavel – Freilach Band ft. Mordechai Shapiro
As the Chosson and Kallah prepare to step out from under the chuppah, to begin their lives together – to build their home together, The Chosson breaks a glass to remind us all of the home; Yerushalayim and the Beis Hamikdash we once had. Now with the Bein HaMetzarim and Tisha B’Av behind us, we all get ready to go back to our day to day lives, we must never forget Yerushalayim.
The following rendition of Al Naharot Bavel was originally recorded by Meydad Tasa on his debut album titled Al Naharot Bavel. Watch as Mordechai Shapiro performed this live at a wedding alongside a 20 piece Freilach Band conducted by Tzvi Blumenfeld. It was truly unforgettable.
