A New Chupa Song From A New Artist: Raphael Ben – Peninim
Raphael Ben, who was recently engaged, is releasing a Chuppah style song, called Peninim. The song was the handiwork of him and his friend Ari Gottholf.
At age 6 Raphael began singing at family events, by age 12 he became a part of the choir of Yosef Barhami in Paris, and at 15 years old, he performed his first concert in Binyanei Ha’Umah in Yerushalayim. He then joined the Chorale Juive de France, the Jewish French choir, as their tenor. He learned in Ner Yisrael in Baltimore and is now serving as a Chazzan in a Shul in one of the Queens neighborhoods.
Raphael says his mentors were Yosef Chaim Hershtik, Nissim Buzaglo, and Hector Sabo, and his musical influences were Gad Elbaz, Daniel Levi, Enrico Masais, and Naomi Shemer.
