8TH DAY Returns To The Friendship Circle of Ottawa
Friendship Circle of Ottawa is proud to announce that the famous 8th Day Band will be returning to Ottawa on Monday, December 17 at GCTC, the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre, located at 1233 Wellington Ave. W. (at Holland). The concert will start at 7:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm.
8th Day Band, located in Los Angeles, has become internationally renowned , playing original and creative Jewish music, utilizing sayings and themes from our Jewish heritage. 8th Day has a fresh sound and an irresistible style. Formed by brothers Shmuel and Benzi Marcus in 2004, they released their debut album in 2005 and now tour the world uplifting young and old with their fresh sound. The brothers compose, play and sing original music with engaging lyrics and addictive hooks. This unique Jewish music group brings diverse styles together in a seamless blend of folk, rock, blues — even a little country-western!
Sara Loewenthal, who recently moved back to Ottawa, commented, ” I attended an 8th Day Concert in New York that was sold-out and am extremely excited that such a world- renowned Band will be in Ottawa”.
The proceeds of this concert go to support the non-profit Friendship Circle, an organization dedicated to children with special needs.
